Get facts and insights on topics that matter, aug 1, 2024 | consumer electronics, apple iphone sales revenue 2007-2024.

In the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal year, Apple generated around 39 billion U.S. dollars in revenue from the sales of iPhones.

The Apple iPhone is one of the biggest success stories in the smartphone industry. Since its introduction to the market in 2007, Apple has sold more than 1.5 billion units worldwide. As of the third quarter of 2024, the Apple iPhone’s market share of  new smartphone sales was over 16 percent. Much of its accomplishments can be attributed to Apple’s ability to keep the product competitive throughout the years, with new releases and updates.

The iPhone has shown to be a crucial product for Apple, considering that the iPhone’s share of the company’s total revenue has consistently grown over the years. In the first quarter of 2009, the iPhone sales were responsible for about a quarter of Apple’s revenue. In the third quarter of FY 2024, this figure reached a high of roughly 50 percent, equating to less than 40 billion U.S. dollars in that quarter. In terms of units sold, Apple went from around 55.8 million units in 2010 to about 232 million in 2023, but registered a peak in the fourth quarter of 2020 with more than  90 million iPhones sold worldwide.

Amazon quarterly net sales revenue 2007-2024.

During the second quarter 2024, Amazon generated total net sales of nearly 148 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing the 134 billion U.S. dollars in the same quarter of 2023.

Launched in 1995 in the United States as an online bookshop, Amazon has since grown into an international e-commerce giant. In April 2023 worldwide visits to amazon.com amounted to over two billion considering both desktop and mobile traffic.

Although a global company, Amazon truly thrives in the United States where the company is the leading e-commerce platform by sales value. In the North American country, the number of subscribers using Amazon Prime services has been growing steadily over the last several years and is forecast to reach new heights in 2024.

U.s. facebook users 2024, by age group.

As of July 2024, 24.2 percent of Facebook users in the United States were aged between 25 and 34 years, making up Facebook’s largest audience in the country. Overall, 19 percent of users belonged to the 18 to 24-year age group.

In 2021, there were approximately 240 million Facebook users in the U.S. , a figure which is projected to steadily increase, and reach 260 million by 2027. Social media users in the United States have a very high awareness of the social media giant . Expectedly, 94 percent of users had heard of the brand as of the beginning of 2022. Although the vast majority of U.S. social networkers knew of Facebook, the likeability of the platform was not so impressive at 67 percent. Nonetheless, usage, loyalty, and buzz around the brand remained relatively high.

A strategic rebranding from Facebook to Meta Platforms in late 2021 boded well for the company in Mark Zuckerberg’s attempt to be strongly linked to the metaverse , and to be considered more than just a social media company. According to a survey conducted in the U.S. in early 2022, Meta Platforms is the brand that Americans most associated with the metaverse.

Nba all-time scoring list 1946-2024.

In February 2023, LeBron James broke the NBA all-time points record, scoring 38 points in the LA Lakers' 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Following the game, James' total stood at 38,390. The previous record holder, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, had scored 38,387 points for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Lakers in an illustrious 20-year career spanning from 1969 to 1989. As of August 2024, James had a total of 40,474 points, breaking the 40 thousand points mark in a loss to the Denver Nuggets.

This statistic only shows points scored in regular-season NBA games and does not take the playoffs into account. Prior to breaking the all-time points record, LeBron James already held the record for the most points scored in NBA playoffs , which stood at 8,023 points as of June 2023. He is also the career leader for the Cleveland Cavaliers , for which he played a total of 11 seasons, in many important statistical categories like points, assists, rebounds, steals, and games played. James has been similarly dominant off the court, being the highest-paid player in the NBA , with total earnings close to 120 million U.S. dollars in the 2023/24 season.

After a career spanning 19 years with the Utah Jazz, John Stockton holds the all-time record for the most assists in the NBA . In his time with the Jazz, Stockton made a total 15,806 assists and was a 10-time All-Star, however, never won an NBA championship. Ranked second and third for assists were Jason Kidd and Chris Paul, respectively.

Monthly car loan rates in the u.s. 2014-2024.

Car loan interest rates in the United States increased slightly in May and June 2024. However, the period of rapidly rising interest rates, when they increased from less than four percent in February 2022 to 7.9 percent two years later, seems to have come to an end. The Federal Reserve interest rate is one of the main causes of the interest rates of loans rising or falling. If inflation stays under control, the federal reserve will start cutting the interest rates, which would have the effect of the cost of car loans falling too.

Car financing exists because not everyone who wants or needs a car can purchase it outright. A financial institution will then lend the money to the customer for purchasing the car, which must then be repaid with interest.  Most new vehicles in the United States in 2023 were purchased using car loans. It is not as common to use car loans for purchasing used vehicles as for new ones, although over a third of used vehicles were purchased using loans.

The car financing business is huge in the United States, due to the high sales of both new and used vehicles in the country. A lot of the United States is very car-centric, which means that, outside large cities, it can often be difficult to do their daily commutes through other transportation methods. In fact, only a small percentage of U.S. workers used public transport to go to work . That is one of the factors that has helped establish the importance of the automotive sector in North America. Nevertheless, there are still countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe with higher car-ownership rates than the United States.

Share of mobile operating systems in india 2012-2023.

In 2023, Android held a share of 95.17 percent of the mobile operating system market in India. This was followed by Apple's iOS, a distant second, with 3.98 percent market share. Android went from just above 10 percent in 2012 to more than 60 percent within four years.

Android gained its dominant position in the mobile operating system market in India since 2015 when it first reached more than 50 percent of the market share. The Indian OS market has seen a rapid transformation since the beginning of 2012 when Symbian held over 65 percent of the market. In the following few years, the operating system, which was used in most Nokia smartphones, has seen its market share fall to nothing.  Android’s dominance in the Indian smartphone industry is echoed in the global market where the operating system held over 70 percent of the smartphone market at the end of 2023. In the United States, however, more than half of the smartphone users had an iPhone as of March 2024 . Android’s closest rival in the global operating system market is Apple’s iOS , which held over 24 percent of the market share of smartphone shipments as of the fourth quarter of 2023. However, as yet, Apple has not broken into the Indian market, although its market share has grown steadily since the start of 2012, it still remained just below four percent.

Bestselling suvs south korea 2023.

In 2023, the Kia Sportage was the bestselling sports utility vehicle (SUV) model in South Korea with more than 69 thousand units sold. Kia Motors boasted the top four models featured on the list. Of the most popular SUVs shown in this statistic, the Sante Fe from Hyundai and the Carnival from Kia are considered large SUVs . In contrast, Kia's Seltos and Hyundai’s Kona are compact SUVs , with the Seltos being developed specifically to counter the success of Kona and Tivoli. Most popular models of SUVs The four most popular models of SUVs in the Korean market are: the Santa Fe and Kona from Hyundai; the Sorento from Kia, and the Tivoli from SsangYong. The Tivoli played an important role in the popularization of compact SUVs. Since its introduction in 2015, as the first new model from SsangYong after its acquisition by India’s Mahindra & Mahindra, the Tivoli was the most-sold compact SUV. However, it was then overtaken by Kona in 2018. From 2015 to 2017, the Tivoli sold over 45,000 and then 50,500 cars each year. This was more than any other competitor on the market at the time. In its first year, it sold more than every other compact SUV competitor combined. The Kona was first released in 2018. Why SUVs are popular in South Korea SUVs in South Korea have experienced a wave of popularity in recent years, ranging from large SUVs, such as the Sorento, to compact SUVs, such as the Tivoli. In fact, nearly half of the automobiles sold in South Korea were SUVs. A key reason being SUVs are simply bigger; they are versatile and can meet a wide variety of needs. They are especially attractive to the increasing number of people who want to enjoy their leisure time. Technological advances mean the traditional disadvantages of SUVs, poor comfort and fuel economy, have been overcome. Meanwhile, compact SUVs have surged in popularity, especially thanks to the SsangYong Tivoli. Hyundai developed the Kona specifically to challenge the Tivoli in the domestic market. In contrast to traditional SUVs, which are mostly popular among men in their 40s and 50s, the Tivoli is particularly popular among youths and women . This is possibly due to design variations and its reasonable cost and size.

9 Best Marketing Research Methods to Know Your Buyer Better [+ Examples]

Ramona Sukhraj

Published: August 08, 2024

One of the most underrated skills you can have as a marketer is marketing research — which is great news for this unapologetic cyber sleuth.

marketer using marketer research methods to better understand her buyer personas

From brand design and product development to buyer personas and competitive analysis, I’ve researched a number of initiatives in my decade-long marketing career.

And let me tell you: having the right marketing research methods in your toolbox is a must.

Market research is the secret to crafting a strategy that will truly help you accomplish your goals. The good news is there is no shortage of options.

How to Choose a Marketing Research Method

Thanks to the Internet, we have more marketing research (or market research) methods at our fingertips than ever, but they’re not all created equal. Let’s quickly go over how to choose the right one.

1. Identify your objective.

What are you researching? Do you need to understand your audience better? How about your competition? Or maybe you want to know more about your customer’s feelings about a specific product.

Before starting your research, take some time to identify precisely what you’re looking for. This could be a goal you want to reach, a problem you need to solve, or a question you need to answer.

For example, an objective may be as foundational as understanding your ideal customer better to create new buyer personas for your marketing agency (pause for flashbacks to my former life).

Or if you’re an organic sode company, it could be trying to learn what flavors people are craving.

2. Determine what type of data and research you need.

Next, determine what data type will best answer the problems or questions you identified. There are primarily two types: qualitative and quantitative. (Sound familiar, right?)

  • Qualitative Data is non-numerical information, like subjective characteristics, opinions, and feelings. It’s pretty open to interpretation and descriptive, but it’s also harder to measure. This type of data can be collected through interviews, observations, and open-ended questions.
  • Quantitative Data , on the other hand, is numerical information, such as quantities, sizes, amounts, or percentages. It’s measurable and usually pretty hard to argue with, coming from a reputable source. It can be derived through surveys, experiments, or statistical analysis.

Understanding the differences between qualitative and quantitative data will help you pinpoint which research methods will yield the desired results.

For instance, thinking of our earlier examples, qualitative data would usually be best suited for buyer personas, while quantitative data is more useful for the soda flavors.

However, truth be told, the two really work together.

Qualitative conclusions are usually drawn from quantitative, numerical data. So, you’ll likely need both to get the complete picture of your subject.

For example, if your quantitative data says 70% of people are Team Black and only 30% are Team Green — Shout out to my fellow House of the Dragon fans — your qualitative data will say people support Black more than Green.

(As they should.)

Primary Research vs Secondary Research

You’ll also want to understand the difference between primary and secondary research.

Primary research involves collecting new, original data directly from the source (say, your target market). In other words, it’s information gathered first-hand that wasn’t found elsewhere.

Some examples include conducting experiments, surveys, interviews, observations, or focus groups.

Meanwhile, secondary research is the analysis and interpretation of existing data collected from others. Think of this like what we used to do for school projects: We would read a book, scour the internet, or pull insights from others to work from.

So, which is better?

Personally, I say any research is good research, but if you have the time and resources, primary research is hard to top. With it, you don’t have to worry about your source's credibility or how relevant it is to your specific objective.

You are in full control and best equipped to get the reliable information you need.

3. Put it all together.

Once you know your objective and what kind of data you want, you’re ready to select your marketing research method.

For instance, let’s say you’re a restaurant trying to see how attendees felt about the Speed Dating event you hosted last week.

You shouldn’t run a field experiment or download a third-party report on speed dating events; those would be useless to you. You need to conduct a survey that allows you to ask pointed questions about the event.

This would yield both qualitative and quantitative data you can use to improve and bring together more love birds next time around.

Best Market Research Methods for 2024

Now that you know what you’re looking for in a marketing research method, let’s dive into the best options.

Note: According to HubSpot’s 2024 State of Marketing report, understanding customers and their needs is one of the biggest challenges facing marketers today. The options we discuss are great consumer research methodologies , but they can also be used for other areas.

Primary Research

1. interviews.

Interviews are a form of primary research where you ask people specific questions about a topic or theme. They typically deliver qualitative information.

I’ve conducted many interviews for marketing purposes, but I’ve also done many for journalistic purposes, like this profile on comedian Zarna Garg . There’s no better way to gather candid, open-ended insights in my book, but that doesn’t mean they’re a cure-all.

What I like: Real-time conversations allow you to ask different questions if you’re not getting the information you need. They also push interviewees to respond quickly, which can result in more authentic answers.

What I dislike: They can be time-consuming and harder to measure (read: get quantitative data) unless you ask pointed yes or no questions.

Best for: Creating buyer personas or getting feedback on customer experience, a product, or content.

2. Focus Groups

Focus groups are similar to conducting interviews but on a larger scale.

In marketing and business, this typically means getting a small group together in a room (or Zoom), asking them questions about various topics you are researching. You record and/or observe their responses to then take action.

They are ideal for collecting long-form, open-ended feedback, and subjective opinions.

One well-known focus group you may remember was run by Domino’s Pizza in 2009 .

After poor ratings and dropping over $100 million in revenue, the brand conducted focus groups with real customers to learn where they could have done better.

It was met with comments like “worst excuse for pizza I’ve ever had” and “the crust tastes like cardboard.” But rather than running from the tough love, it took the hit and completely overhauled its recipes.

The team admitted their missteps and returned to the market with better food and a campaign detailing their “Pizza Turn Around.”

The result? The brand won a ton of praise for its willingness to take feedback, efforts to do right by its consumers, and clever campaign. But, most importantly, revenue for Domino’s rose by 14.3% over the previous year.

The brand continues to conduct focus groups and share real footage from them in its promotion:

What I like: Similar to interviewing, you can dig deeper and pivot as needed due to the real-time nature. They’re personal and detailed.

What I dislike: Once again, they can be time-consuming and make it difficult to get quantitative data. There is also a chance some participants may overshadow others.

Best for: Product research or development

Pro tip: Need help planning your focus group? Our free Market Research Kit includes a handy template to start organizing your thoughts in addition to a SWOT Analysis Template, Survey Template, Focus Group Template, Presentation Template, Five Forces Industry Analysis Template, and an instructional guide for all of them. Download yours here now.

3. Surveys or Polls

Surveys are a form of primary research where individuals are asked a collection of questions. It can take many different forms.

They could be in person, over the phone or video call, by email, via an online form, or even on social media. Questions can be also open-ended or closed to deliver qualitative or quantitative information.

A great example of a close-ended survey is HubSpot’s annual State of Marketing .

In the State of Marketing, HubSpot asks marketing professionals from around the world a series of multiple-choice questions to gather data on the state of the marketing industry and to identify trends.

The survey covers various topics related to marketing strategies, tactics, tools, and challenges that marketers face. It aims to provide benchmarks to help you make informed decisions about your marketing.

It also helps us understand where our customers’ heads are so we can better evolve our products to meet their needs.

Apple is no stranger to surveys, either.

In 2011, the tech giant launched Apple Customer Pulse , which it described as “an online community of Apple product users who provide input on a variety of subjects and issues concerning Apple.”

Screenshot of Apple’s Consumer Pulse Website from 2011.

"For example, we did a large voluntary survey of email subscribers and top readers a few years back."

While these readers gave us a long list of topics, formats, or content types they wanted to see, they sometimes engaged more with content types they didn’t select or favor as much on the surveys when we ran follow-up ‘in the wild’ tests, like A/B testing.”

Pepsi saw similar results when it ran its iconic field experiment, “The Pepsi Challenge” for the first time in 1975.

The beverage brand set up tables at malls, beaches, and other public locations and ran a blindfolded taste test. Shoppers were given two cups of soda, one containing Pepsi, the other Coca-Cola (Pepsi’s biggest competitor). They were then asked to taste both and report which they preferred.

People overwhelmingly preferred Pepsi, and the brand has repeated the experiment multiple times over the years to the same results.

What I like: It yields qualitative and quantitative data and can make for engaging marketing content, especially in the digital age.

What I dislike: It can be very time-consuming. And, if you’re not careful, there is a high risk for scientific error.

Best for: Product testing and competitive analysis

Pro tip:  " Don’t make critical business decisions off of just one data set," advises Pamela Bump. "Use the survey, competitive intelligence, external data, or even a focus group to give you one layer of ideas or a short-list for improvements or solutions to test. Then gather your own fresh data to test in an experiment or trial and better refine your data-backed strategy."

Secondary Research

8. public domain or third-party research.

While original data is always a plus, there are plenty of external resources you can access online and even at a library when you’re limited on time or resources.

Some reputable resources you can use include:

  • Pew Research Center
  • McKinley Global Institute
  • Relevant Global or Government Organizations (i.e United Nations or NASA)

It’s also smart to turn to reputable organizations that are specific to your industry or field. For instance, if you’re a gardening or landscaping company, you may want to pull statistics from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If you’re a digital marketing agency, you could look to Google Research or HubSpot Research . (Hey, I know them!)

What I like: You can save time on gathering data and spend more time on analyzing. You can also rest assured the data is from a source you trust.

What I dislike: You may not find data specific to your needs.

Best for: Companies under a time or resource crunch, adding factual support to content

Pro tip: Fellow HubSpotter Iskiev suggests using third-party data to inspire your original research. “Sometimes, I use public third-party data for ideas and inspiration. Once I have written my survey and gotten all my ideas out, I read similar reports from other sources and usually end up with useful additions for my own research.”

9. Buy Research

If the data you need isn’t available publicly and you can’t do your own market research, you can also buy some. There are many reputable analytics companies that offer subscriptions to access their data. Statista is one of my favorites, but there’s also Euromonitor , Mintel , and BCC Research .

What I like: Same as public domain research

What I dislike: You may not find data specific to your needs. It also adds to your expenses.

Best for: Companies under a time or resource crunch or adding factual support to content

Which marketing research method should you use?

You’re not going to like my answer, but “it depends.” The best marketing research method for you will depend on your objective and data needs, but also your budget and timeline.

My advice? Aim for a mix of quantitative and qualitative data. If you can do your own original research, awesome. But if not, don’t beat yourself up. Lean into free or low-cost tools . You could do primary research for qualitative data, then tap public sources for quantitative data. Or perhaps the reverse is best for you.

Whatever your marketing research method mix, take the time to think it through and ensure you’re left with information that will truly help you achieve your goals.

The strategic role of market research in mergers and acquisitions.

Amaan Kazi is the CEO of Verified Market Research , a global market research & consulting firm focused on niche & emerging markets.

What’s the one thing you do before making a big purchase? Before buying a house, a car or even a pricey gadget? You research. You watch videos, read articles, scroll through reviews, speak with friends and family.

That’s what we do as consumers to dodge the regret of a bad decision—a decision that could set us back years. Ever wonder what businesses do in similar high-stakes situations like mergers and acquisitions (M&A)? The answer is the same: Market research.

Just like you don’t buy a car without checking under the hood, businesses leverage market research to extrapolate insights that go beyond ticking boxes. Especially when it comes to mergers and acquisitions, this research can uncover crucial information.

1. Identifying Prospects

A filmmaker selects locations that enhance the storytelling of their film; they consider each location's unique characteristics, accessibility and how well it fits into the film’s narrative and aesthetic needs. Similarly, as a business, the first step in a successful merger/acquisition deal is identifying the right companies that not only complement strengths but also offset weaknesses, noting unique assets that have a strategic fit to your capabilities.

Case in point: When Amazon bought Whole Foods , it wasn’t just buying a company. Amazon acquired an established grocery chain with an affluent, health-conscious customer base and strong urban and suburban presence. Detailed market research highlighted Whole Foods’ alignment with trends in organic products, supply chain synergies and potential for technological integration.

This strategic fit, combined with Amazon’s technological prowess, enabled them to enhance customer experiences, optimize operations and effectively compete in the grocery sector, ultimately reinventing grocery logistics.

Here's the essential check-list to determine your potential acquisition targets:

• Customer demographics and behaviors

• Market position and brand reputation

• Financial health and performance

• Operational efficiency and supply chain/distribution

• Technological capabilities

• Human capital and corporate culture

• Regulatory and compliance status

2. Matching Interests

Take the process of choosing a life partner in marriage, for example. Besides the initial attraction, a deeper evaluation of compatibility in values, life goals and personalities plays a key role in deciding a fit. Both parties look for a partnership that will bring mutual benefits, support growth and enhance each other’s lives.

This is similar to how companies assess cultural fit, leadership vision and business model compatibility in potential mergers or acquisitions.

We can learn from history: The Daimler-Benz and Chrysler merger of 1998 promised a global auto empire. Instead, clashing German-American corporate cultures created a roadmap to disaster. A deeper dive into their cultural compatibilities might have shown red flags early on.

Here's how to leverage market research to hopefully avoid this kind of disaster:

• Make human capital and corporate culture assessments. Conduct employee surveys and interviews to gather insights into the corporate cultures of both companies.

• Identify synergies and gaps. Use focus groups to explore cultural similarities and differences, fostering open dialogue and understanding.

• Develop a cultural integration plan. Organize joint cultural workshops to create a detailed plan for integrating teams and aligning corporate values.

• Monitor and adjust your integration plan: Establish feedback mechanisms such as surveys and focus groups to continuously monitor your integration process and make necessary adjustments.

3. Foresight

Knowing the weather ahead can make or break your road trip. Before setting out, you don't only check the weather for the day you leave, but for every leg of your journey, adjusting your route to avoid potential storms and capitalize on clear skies.

Similarly, in the world of mergers and acquisitions, foresight is the ability to understand not only how a potential acquisition fits with your current operations but also how it will synergize and evolve within your industry's future landscape.

One illustrative example: Microsoft’s acquisition of LinkedIn was a game-changer and strategic masterstroke. They didn’t just see LinkedIn as a professional network; they recognized the platform’s potential as a pivotal element in the future of work. Beyond adding a new asset, it strategically positioned Microsoft at the forefront of professional networking, enhancing its existing suite of productivity tools in a digital-first professional environment.

Here are some methods to predict acquisition fit and avoid common pitfalls:

• Scenario planning. Anticipate performance under future conditions.

• SWOT analysis. Understand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

• Technology assessment. Align with future tech trends.

• Market trend analysis. Position your company in the future market.

• Competitive analysis. Assess market positioning relative to competitors.

• PESTLE analysis. PESTLE stands for political, economic, sociological, technological, legal and environmental. This type of analysis can help you evaluate macro-environmental factors impacting operations.

By addressing these points, companies can leverage foresight in their M&A strategies, helping to ensure successful integration and long-term synergy.

How Research Can Lead To An M&A

A few years ago, a client of ours sought insights on a niche market they planned on expanding into. The research report we delivered not only provided them with a comprehensive analysis of key segments of the market but also highlighted underexploited synergies with a competitor.

Fast forward a couple of months, the two companies, initially competitive in nature, gradually shifted toward collaborative opportunities that capitalized on both their strengths while also covering for each other’s weaknesses. Eventually, this led to both parties realizing the mutual benefit of a merger, especially since they both aligned on their vision of the industry.

Closing Notes

Market research defines and then empowers a well-thought-out strategy. It helps dodge bullets, seize opportunities and make informed decisions. More specifically, it also helps you understand cultural insights, make better decisions, boost confidence, avoid risk, spot opportunities and integrate with others more smoothly.

In conclusion, just as you wouldn’t shop blindly for a significant investment, in business, you don’t dive into mergers and acquisitions without homework. Market research is that homework.

Rankings are determined by year-over-year percentage increases in domestic sales. The focus on growth rate highlights hot, growing companies without being overpowered by the largest retailers in the United States.

Retailer sales and growth figures are based on Kantar’s Retail IQ integrated research methodology. Kantar estimates sales of privately held companies, franchise sales and domestic sales when the figures are not self-reported. This removes the impact of the companies’ investments in international operations from the growth rankings to give a true perspective on the situation in the U.S. retail market. The lawyer has called for an investigation into potential links between political voices critical of Adani after the Hindenburg report and China . He suggested the report might have been Chinese retaliation for losing infrastructure projects like the Haifa Port.

It's worth noting that the Supreme Court of India has dismissed a petition for a court-monitored investigation into the Adani-Hindenburg issue, following a report by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Addressing the allegations at Adani Enterprises' Annual General Meeting in June, Group Chairman Gautam Adani stated: "In the face of an unprecedented attack on our integrity and reputation, we fought back and proved that no challenge could weaken the foundations on which your Group has been established."

testimonial-image

“The GlobalData platform is our go-to tool for intelligence services. GlobalData provides an easy way to access comprehensive intelligence data around multiple sectors, which essentially makes it a one-for-all intelligence platform, for tendering and approaching customers.

GlobalData is very customer orientated, with a high degree of personalised services, which benefits everyday use. The highly detailed project intelligence and forecast reports can be utilised across multiple departments and workflow scopes, from operational to strategic level, and often support strategic decisions. GlobalData Analytics and visualisation solutions has contributed positively when preparing management presentations and strategic papers.”

“COVID-19 has caused significant interference to our business and the COVID-19 intelligence from GlobalData has helped us reach better decisions around strategy. These two highlights have helped enormously to understand the projections into the future concerning our business units, we also utilise the project database to source new projects for Liebherr-Werk to use as an additional source to pitch for new business.”

Your daily news has saved me a lot of time and keeps me up-to-date with what is happening in the market, I like that you almost always have a link to the source origin. We also use your market data in our Strategic Business Process to support our business decisions. By having everything in one place on the Intelligence Center it has saved me a lot of time versus looking on different sources, the alert function also helps with this.

Having used several other market research companies, I find that GlobalData manages to provide that ‘difficult-to-get’ market data that others can’t, as well as very diverse and complete consumer surveys.

Our experience with GlobalData has been very good, from the platform itself to the people. I find that the analysts and the account team have a high level of customer focus and responsiveness and therefore I can always rely on. The platform is more holistic than other providers. It is convenient and almost like a one stop shop. The pricing suite is highly competitive and value for our organisation.

I like reports that inform new segments such as the analysis on generation Z, millennials, the impact of COVID 19 to our banking customers and their new channel habits. Secondly the specialist insight on affluent sector significantly increases our understanding about this group of customers. The combination of those give us depth and breadth of the evolving market.

I’m in the business of answering and helping people make decisions so with the intelligence center I can do that, effectively and efficiently. I can share quickly key insights that answer and satisfy our country stakeholders by giving them many quality studies and primary research about competitive landscape beyond the outlook of our bank. It helps me be seen as an advisory partner and that makes a big difference. A big benefit of our subscription is that no one holds the whole data and because it allows so many people, so many different parts of our organisation have access, it enables all teams to have the same level of knowledge and decision support.

“I know that I can always rely on Globaldata’s work when I’m searching for the right consumer and market insights. I use Globaldata insights to understand the changing market & consumer landscape and help create better taste & wellbeing solutions for our customers in food, beverage and healthcare industries.

Globaldata has the right data and the reports are of very high quality compared to your competitors. Globaldata not only has overall market sizes & consumer insights on food & beverages but also provides insights at the ingredient & flavour level. That is key for B2B companies like Givaudan. This way we understand our customers’ business and also gain insight to our unique industry”

GlobalData provides a great range of information and reports on various sectors that is highly relevant, timely, easy to access and utilise.  The reports and data dashboards help engagement with clients; they provide valuable industry and market insights that can enrich client conversations and can help in the shaping of value propositions. Moreover, using GlobalData products has helped increase my knowledge of the finance sector, the players within it, and the general threats and opportunities.

I find the consumer surveys that are carried out to be extremely beneficial and not something I have seen anywhere else. They provided an insightful view of why and which consumers take (or don’t) particular financial products. This can help shape conversations with clients to ensure they make the right strategic decisions for their business.

One of the challenges I have found is that data in the payments space is often piecemeal. With GD all of the data I need is in one place, but it also comes with additional market reports that provide useful extra context and information. Having the ability to set-up alerts on relevant movements in the industry, be it competitors or customers, and have them emailed directly to me, ensures I get early sight of industry activity and don’t have to search for news.
